Tatranská Štrba is a small village known mainly thaks to the highest express train sation in Slovak republic. The village is a good starting point for a trip to nearby Strbske Pleso which won´t be longer than 4 hours on foot. Thanks to first written reference we know that the place has been estabilished in 1280. Before the building of railway local people mainly worked in agriculture or they farmed. After that some of them had worked in railway. Aside of this the railway has brought many visitors there so many citizens have oriented to turism.
